Challenge Day 7, which is really Day 5

I know this is supposed to be Challenge Day 7, but I feel due to the weekend, I skipped out on 2 days of real fitness challenges. I am counting today as fitness challenge Day 5. It is only fair.

Today was a good day. I stuck to my diet. I woke up late, however, and had a meeting at work, and skipped breakfast. Not really my fault. I bought some muscle milk breakfast shakes, and FYI--I hate them. I was driving to work, and ewe. I took one drink and spit it right back out. I won't buy them anymore. I decided to try Muscle Milk instead of Special K Protein breakfast shakes. The MM had 22 grams of protein, versus SK's 10. Well, back to SK's I go.

Lunch worked out well, and I was starving by then. I snacked on a few raisins until lunch, where I had a 6" black forest ham sandwich from Subway. No cheese. Lite dressing. Unsweet Tea for the drink.

I made it a point to walk extra steps at work today, no matter what I needed to do...

I was starving by the time I got off work, but I always feel it is best to eat after working out. And eat a ton of protein.

I never try to get to the point of having my stomach growl, that is actually not a good diet for your body.

I got home from work, and I successfully completed the Flirty Girl Fitness Challenge. I even did push-ups, jumping jacks, and warm downs on my own long after the video was over.

I feel more energized after doing the videos. I also get a little bored. That is one thing I can say. Doing the same routine over and over does get boring, even though I am only into day 5.

For dinner, I had turkey BBQ sandwiches. I baked two pieces of whole grain wheat bread, smothered in garlic and 2% shredded cheese, then placed the BBQ on top of each slice.

Yum.

Day 5 is complete.

Weight: 179

I will try to have Amie measure me tomorrow.

I did already notice a change in inches. My friend Jenae' and I bought matching t-shirts from the junior section of TJ Max a little while ago. Mine was suppppper tight in the chest area, not just the breast area. I wore the shirt yesterday. I just wanted to see if I could tell a change in inches at all yet, only into Day 4. I mean this is a 10 day challenge that promises to melt away inches, so let's put it to the test; so I did. The shirt wasn't tight like before.

Interesting.

Let's see what happens on day 10!

Challenge Day 4, 5, 6

Had I known the weekend would be so crammed packed full of blur, I would have started this fitness challenge on a Monday! haha.

Friday, I was able to partake in the fitness challenge, but I went off my regular diet. As ridiculous as this sounds, it was such a busy Friday, and packed full of conflicts, I didn't eat my normal healthy from the get go. Lunch consisted of a cheeseburger from Whip Dip. With a Dr. Pepper. I never said I didn't drink or eat the yummy bad stuff; just said I seldom ate it.

Dinner came Friday night after working out. I did eat a well-balanced dinner. But, at 3am'ish, I blew that out of the water. I went to visit my friend Amie, and the two of us ending up going to the donut shop. Needless to say, one long john and a few sausage rolls later, we realized it was 5am. I headed up, only to wake up to a jam packed day.

Day 4

Weight 180

Total pounds lost: 4

Day 5 Challenge:

I woke up Saturday morning, and had actually lost a pound. Imagine that. Even after going off my regular diet, I lost a pound. But, I did work-out. So, maybe that helped balance things somewhat.

Amie and I were off to Shawnee, to shop at the mall and see a movie. I picked her up, and started the day off with beef jerky. If you are in a hurry, and want to eat a snack on the road, and are like me, and forget to grab a healthy snack bar from your house, grab something decent at a store. Instead of munching on a candy bar or cupcake, look for nutri-grain bars, or grab beef jerky. Most convenient store carry somewhat healthier products.

Just buy beef jerky that isn't loaded with sodium.

Amie and I headed to the mall. Walked our butts off. We grabbed dinner before the movie at McAlister's. I loved it. Healthy food choices. I ordered the grilled chicken sweet and sour sandwich, with a veggie chili salad. Yum!!!

Amie and I didn't end up back in Ada until 3am, and once I dropped her off, I headed home, in which I couldn't sleep.

Before we left Shawnee, Amie, along with three of her friends we ran into at the mall, went to iHop.

FYI--iHop has healthy choices, too. Hearty whole grain pancakes, and turkey bacon.

Granted, I decided to eat regular bacon and eggs, but skipped the carbs. I didn't eat bread.

It's all about balance.

Saturday I went to bed at 6:30am. Whew. Tired.

No way, no how did I participate the in the fitness challenge Saturday.

Challenge Day 6:

Sunday. Sunday was a pretty decent day. I stuck to my diet, for the most part, but again, it was jam packed and I wasn't even home from the afternoon on. I made it home Sunday at 4am. Went to bed at 6am.

Didn't fit in the fitness challenge.

However, have maintained the weight loss accomplished this far.

Weight: 180

Challenge Day 6:

Monday, Monday, so good to me. I was finally able to get back on track Monday. Fitness challenge good to go.

Once off work, I spent time in the yard repairing my mower, then pushed mowed my lawn. I have a fairly decent sized lawn, and it takes about an hour to mow. Push mow. Once done, I then got down on my hands and knees and spent about 20 minutes pulling up weeds and overgrown grass.

After working all day, and then working in the yard after work, I was tired. However, I managed to do 15 minutes of the 40 minute workout from Flirty Girl Fitness.

Once done in the yard, I worked-out, showered then ate a late dinner. Healthy dinner. Grilled chicken with boiled potatoes. Loaded with garlic. The chicken was already grilled, just popped it in the oven.

Weight: 180

I will have Amie take my measurements Thursday.

Challenge Day 3

I had a gazillion things to do before work this morning, so I ran out the door, forgetting to even grab anything for breakfast or lunch. Which meant, alas, no eggs for breakfast as I have made the past two mornings as part of the fitness challenge.

I was a little discouraged this morning. After losing three pounds on the first day of the challenge, I figured I would at least lose one more pound today. Nope. My weight has stayed the same. 181. So, a little discouraging when the DVD's promise results in ten days. This is day three.

And, it's not like I have gone off the diet. At all. Not the past two days at least. However, tonight, I may. I am meeting a friend for drinks at a new place here in town. I vow to only have one drink! lol. I may have to do the Booty Beat dance work-out twice, instead of once.

Most of the soreness has worn off I experienced the first day after the challenge began. Good deal.

And dang the engineers around this radio station. Just brought in KFC. So the entire building smells like yummy and oh-so-bad for me chicken and biscuits. Yikes. I will stay strong. It smells good, but I know what eating it does, and that's bad.

I was lucky in the fact when I got to work today, I realized I had left some raisins and bananas in my office. Bananas and raisins for breakfast worked out perfectly.

Well, I started this blog yesterday, but I got home pretty late in the evening, and was extrememly exhausted. I got home at almost midnight, so I went straight to bed.

I didn't do the work-out. I will Friday!

Challenge Day 2

Here I am into day two of this fitness challenge, and I have lost 3, count them 3lbs. I always, always, always weigh first thing in the morning, after I make a stop in the ladies room. I always weigh without clothes on, so I won't ask myself, "How many pounds should I take off for this baggy shirt?" Come on, you know I can't be the only one who tries to take off 2-3lbs for a shirt or jeans. Tee-hee.

So, today's weight: 181

So far, so good, I suppose. My lower back on the right side is a little sore. Other than that, my body is fine after the dirty dancing work-out. Yesterday, I ate 3 eggs for breakfast instead of the recommended 6, and 3 filled me up for hours. I had to force myself to eat lunch. Eating every two hours, be it something even small, is better when trying to lose weight, rather than skipping meals. Today, I only ate 2 eggs for breakfast.

I had an appointment after work this evening, so I got home a little later than normal. I was supposed to meet up with my friend, but I figured I had time to get in a walk/run before he got to my house. I try to walk/run a little each night before or after doing the Flirty Girl DVD's. It's a part of my normal routine, before incorporating the Flirty Girl challenge into my wellness initiatives.

Ten minutes into my walk/run, I see my friend turning off the highway. Haha. I just slow down to see if he will spot me on the side of the road. He gets right to me, passes me, then turns around. Guess he saw me a litttttle late, haha. My walk/run was cut short, but that's quite alright. I like to hang with him. I rode back to my house with him.

After he left, I turned the oven on to prepare my dinner. Whole grain wheat Canadian bacon pizza, with 2% cheese.

While the oven warmed up and the pizza cooked, I finished the work out. I can really feel it in my hips. Really. The gyrating is causing soreness. Funny.

I didn't have a chance to have Amie or anyone else take my measurements today. I figured one day into the routine wouldn't show that much of a difference in inch loss. I may tomorrow. I already lost 3lbs in one day, so who knows. Maybe inches are melting away somewhere.

I should probably clear up something, too. Several people have asked if I am getting paid to do this challenge. No. This is something I decided to do on my own. I wanted to put these videos to the test that take our money and claim big rewards. No one asked me to, told me they would give me something for free if I did it, nor am I getting paid. I am doing it for me. :) I think that is the best, and only reason to do it, no?

Breakfast Day 2:

2 eggs cooked with extra virgin olive oil
4 oz. Orange Juice

Lunch Day 2:

6" Black Forest Ham Sub. Jared's low fat. No cheese. Veggies. Lite Dressing.
21 oz. Unsweetened Tea

Snack and Drinks for the day:

Special K Chocolate Protein Shake (10 grams of protein)
1 snack stick of 2% cheese
60 oz. of water

Dinner Day 2:

2 slices whole grain wheat flour pizza. Canadian bacon as topping. 2% shredded cheese. I only use fat free milk, by the way, and 2% cheese products with anything I make. Pizza was covered in garlic.

Challenge Day 1

Above are pictures just to give you somewhat of an idea the various foods found in my home. You won't find Little Debbies, big bags of chips, fatty ice creams or soda. As I said in the first blog, those are things I do not eat everyday.

I had the wonderful Amie take my measurements. Not too sure we knew what we were doing, but hey, we will go with it. Before I give you the measurements I currently am at, let me tell you my measurements before losing 130lbs:

Hips: 60"
Chest: 58"
Waist: 54"
Arms: 18"
Upper Legs (Thigh): 28"

Yes, I took measurements of everything, and not in any order.

Measurements today:

Hips: 48"
Chest: 46"
Waist: 41"
Arms: 14"
Legs: 21"

I have large boobies. FYI. So, those are the measurements I am currently in starting the Flirty Girl Fitness DVD's promising to melt away inches and kick off a great weight loss.

Day 1: Weight 184lbs

Day 1 Breakfast:

3 eggs cooked in 1 tsp. of extra virgin olive oil
4 oz. Orange Juice

Day 1 Lunch:

6" Black Forest Ham Sub from Subway. Wheat bread. No cheese. Lite Mayo. Falls under Jared's Low-Fat Subs
21 oz. Unsweet Tea

Day 1 Snacks & Drinks:

1 Low Fat Whole Grain Oatmeal Raisin Granola Bar
18.5 oz. Tropical Punch Fuze 5 calorie drink
60 oz. of water

Day 1 Dinner:

1 cup of low fat Ragu spaghetti sauce
1.5 cups of whole grain wheat spaghetti
1 cup cooked fat free ground turkey
1 slice of whole grain wheat bread covered in garlic, lightly buttered with 1/2tsp low-fat butter. I do NOT use margarine.

Once off work, I went home. Started the water on the stove for the spaghetti. Figured I could let it get to a boil while I did the Booty Beat dance work-out. It is 37 minutes in length.

The first few minutes of the video, you will feel a light sweat, that is, if you aren't a fitness buff who works out every single day of your life. The chicks in the video try to teach me dance moves, one at a time, mostly focusing on hip gyration. Is that a word? Never thought I would use it that way. Once all the upbeat, hip gyrating dance moves are learned, they are all put together as one dance routine, repeated eight times.

Once the entire routine is completed eight times, a relaxation mode kicks in. Grab a mat. You'll need it.

I then inserted the Chair Dance video. These chair Nazi's didn't tell me I would need a short kitchen chair. Mine is has a tall back, and wide seats. Woops. It just dawned me, though, as I type this, I do have smaller patio chairs on my deck I can use instead. Oh well. I made it through the Chair Dance video without kicking my leg over the chair, because come on now, I am NOT that tall, I can barely get my leg up to the top of the chair, much less kick around it. Pah-lease. The Chair Dance video taught me, or should I say, tried to teach me dirty facial expressions, along with spreading and closing legs at appropriate times. The funny part? Having to pretend a gentleman caller is who I was performing for...let's just say Shelby, my dog, got a good show.

For free!

Once the work-out was complete, I finished up cooking my spaghetti and ate my dinner.

Day one challenge is complete. I can feel my upper legs starting to ache a slight bit. Wonder what the hips will feel like in the morning? Oh dear.

Myami Verses Flirty Girls

Most generally, Sunday is my rest day. Hey, God said it was Okay.

One Sunday evening back in March, I was kicked back watching a guilty pleasure reality show of mine. Hate it or love it, I really don't care, but I love the Kendra show. For those of you out of the loop, Kendra Wilkenson was one of Hugh Hefner's girlfriends, and, as the cameras rolled on the reality show, "The Girl's Next Door," I became inspired to lose weight.

By the time I caught onto the Playmate reality show, it was in the second season on E! One trip to my local Hastings, and season one of "The Girls Next Door" was mine.

Everyone needs motivation, and for whatever reason, Kendra became mine, in some odd way.

Since the time I bought the DVD of season one, I have lost 130lbs.

Granted, the Playmates aren't miracle workers. While Kendra was my inspiration, the will to lose the weight came from inside of me, and the devotion to change the way I eat every single food. Every single day.

For the most part, I cut out processed foods, and this includes foods made with enriched bleached flour, and unbleached flour. Take yourself to your local grocer, and see how hard it is to find foods that are not made with enriched or bleached flour. Start reading the ingredient labels on all food products. You will start to see just what you are putting into your body. It isn't good.

I started by removing processed foods from my diet, then removing a horrible habit of mine--soda. It actually wasn't too terribly hard to do, as a matter of fact.

You would think from there, I would be good to go, but oh no, I wasn't nearly close to changing my diet.

I also switched almost every meat I could to turkey. Surprisingly, turkey bacon, turkey ground meat, and turkey sausage is not that bad. I buy turkey without steroid injections or preservatives. I also stay away from white carbs. I do not buy white carbs such as breads, rices, pastas, or snack foods. I only buy 100% whole grain wheat flour carb products.

And for goodness sake, do not buy fruits or vegetables in cans. Have you ever noticed how much sodium are in these products? Way too much!

Don't get me wrong. I am human. Every once in a while, I still drink a good Dr. Pepper. Or swing in to a local joint and grab a hamburger. But not every single meal, and not every single day.

With all that being said, back in March, I was watching Kendra. At that point, I had only lost 120lbs. During a commercial break, a short infomercial for "Flirty Girl Fitness" work-out and dance videos came on. I was skeptical. I somewhat laughed when I first saw the short commercials.

Really? Shaking my butt like a hooker in a club can make me lose how many inches in ten days?

I thought back to my teenage days of being overweight, and spending countless nights working out, or should I say, "Sweatin' to the Oldies," with Richard Simmons. I don't care how many times that curly-haired, amped up old man made another fat woman cry, or how many times he said I could do it, I never lost weight sweatin' to the oldies.

So could these ladies without an ounce of fat on their bodies get me moving enough to lose the inches as they claim these work-out and dance videos do?

Hmmm.

During the course of Kendra's 30-minute reality show, I saw the commercial for "Flirty Girl Fitness" two more times. By the third time, I was intrigued. I wanted the videos. Besides, they made it look easy. And if I acted right then, I could get two DVD's for $9.99. Well buddy. This could be the best $10 I ever spent. Why not?

Why Amy A. claims she lost 30lbs and 44 inches in just ten days!

Well if Amy A. could do it, so could I!

I ordered the two DVD's, which by the way, if you decide to order these DVD's, get ready to spend 45 minutes on the phone with a recording. I kid you not. Your order will not be complete until Betty, the pre-recorded money stealer, promotes and begs you to sign-up for irresistible offers she feels you cannot get through the rest of your life without signing up for.

I received my DVD's a few short days later. Sadly, I got sick due to a crazy illness I have, then had to have surgery, and my body wasn't up to getting my booty beat on.

Until now.

I am ready to take the Flirty Girl Fitness Challenge. I have invited you to come along with me. Let's see if these videos do as they claim.

Now, keep in mind, I have the following DVD's:

Booty Beat: This workout consists of super sexy dance moves from music videos that is supposed to get my heart pumping and my hips gyrating. I will learn a sexy striptease, then cool my muscles down with a sexy stretch.

Chair Dance: Once I am done with this workout, the video promises I will never look at a simple kitchen chair the same way again. I will learn the art of a chair striptease, and tone my abdominal muscles.

One reason I decided to take on the Flirty Girl Fitness Challenge, is due to the fact I have suffered with a skin illness my entire life. I was recently told I have at least 35lbs of damaged skin that will NEVER go away. I can't tone it. I can't put special cream on it to make it go away. It has to be surgically removed. While I am glad my surgeon says I have lost enough weight to have the scarred and damaged skin removed from my body due to years and years of an illness I have battled, I just want to be sure I can't melt anymore of the skin away. The surgeon told me in May I was ready to now to have the skin removed, since I am down to almost an ideal weight. Once the skin is removed, I will be at an ideal weight.

You see though, I've always been a fighter. The easy way out of a situation has NEVER been an option for me.

I have tried intense workouts before. Crunch after crunch, arm strengthening routine after arm strengthening routine. No results. However, I didn't know the scarred and damaged skin was something that would never go away until recently.

So here I go.

Now, I will not follow the Flirty Girl "recommended diet" while doing the challenge. Those skinny work-out crazies want me to eat 6 eggs for breakfast, along with other things. Who can eat 6 eggs cooked as an omelet? Not I!!!

I already eat healthy, and incorporate 80 grams or more of protein into my diet daily. So, I am good to go.

The Booty Beat and Chair Dance videos promote more of an inches loss of the body, than weight in ten days.

So, I will focus on inches.

I will have Amie measure me tomorrow at work. I will post my measurements then.
For those inquiring minds, I weigh 184.

I have lost 130lbs.

So for all you skinny little girls who weigh 184 or LESS already, and gasp at that number, I smile. I haven't seen 184lbs since I was 14-years-old. So don't give me negative reactions, this is a positive number for me!

Keep in mind, I also have at least 35lbs of damaged skin that is NOT going anywhere. It has to be surgically cut off.

So ideally, I weigh 149.

I haven't seen 149lbs since, well, I don't remember when!!!

Tomorrow will be day one of ten days of the Myami Takes on the Flirty Girl Fitness Challenge.

I hope you will follow along with me. Writing this blog and sharing it with you is a huge motivator for me to stick with this intense striptease! haha!

Each day, I will write a blog once the work-out has been completed, and I will detail the blog with the food I ate each day. I will also list the drinks I consume, and any other physical activity. I will have Amie, or someone else take my measurements every day.

Keep in mind I work crazy hours in radio, so my posts may be later in the evening.

I hope you will enjoy this, and go along with me in this journey.

Let's see how many inches I can lose in ten days!!!!!

(If any. This company may be lying fools! We will find out!!)
